The Klaxons live at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown

The Klaxons hit Sydney following a delay due to their bass player misjudging a jump and breaking his leg while in France earlier in the year. Support was from the Melbourne boys Damn Arms, who I’ve previously shot, when they toured with Midnight Juggernauts, in Newcastle. Was good to catch up with drummer Simon. The venue was the Enmore Theatre, and it was my first time shooting here (after missing Sarah Blasko due to illness). Let me just say - this venue is absolutely superb. Great sound, sweet lighting, awesome vibe and brilliant interior architectural features from its days as a working theatre.

Let me just say that these guys lighting technicians deserve a hell of a pat on the back. Even during our limited “three songs” (Matt Booy and I swear it was about five or six) there were plenty of opportunities with great lighting which was good to see. Even the Damn Arms set was well lit, a change for many support bands.

Also met TripleJ’s Matt Booy for the first time - awesome chap, and apologies for not giving you a chance to play with the iphone mate. Next time. I also met up with Anthony Yong once more, having first met him at Regurgitator a few weeks back.
