I’ve been a fan of TZU for some time now. Their hit song In Front Of Me is one I enjoy. Sure it’s Aussie hiphop, but the stuff that comes out of these talented lads from Melbourne (what is it about the good Melbourne bands?!?) with their tasteful use of soul and funk combined with a rather more intelligent choice in their wordsmithing makes for a far more enjoyable evening when compared to the likes that I endured under the Block Party tour banner. This tour was undertaken to help promote their new album Computer Love.
Local lads Rapaport hit the stage first for a sound that is still a tad raw. Give it a few more years of refinement and you’ll have yourself a winner with this group, if they also manage to move with the times. The Tongue (with ever faithful DJ Skoob at his side) was the bigger of the support acts and didn’t disappoint the crowd as a warm up to the main act. TZU, however, were most definitely the highlight of the evening, coming back for an extra encore beyond the obligatory one! Was it worth it? Hell yeah! The whole stage area was absolutely packed for their entire set. Definitely a group to watch - and they even managed a write up in the Metro section of Fairfax’s Sydney outfit.

Some nice shots here Joel, a lot of depth and mood in them.
PS. When did you stick the theme on here?
Cheers mate.
wrt theme - I’m trialling this one as an interim before moving to a customised version of another one. Got a bit tired of K2 that’s all.
Ahh ok, I don’t mind this theme at all, big open spaces and big clear fonts ftw!
Be interested to see what you come up with as a custom theme. Any previews?
nice nice work. Came across you blog via flickr. I was doing a search for Queens Wharf Brewery imagery… keep up the splendid…
Got caught in the act this night!
